Luang Phor Prom was born in Ayutayah Province on 20th AprilBE2427. He was ordained as monk at Wat Pahk Kong Yang on 15th April BE2447 atthe age of 20 years old. Before Luang Phor Prom was ordained as a monk, healready learned magical chant from Arjaan Puang.
After he became a monk, Arjaan Puang brought Luang Phor Prom to learn Dhammaunder Luang Phor Dum. After 4 years, Luang Phor Prom went to become thedisciple of Arjaan Poowon. Arjaan Poowon taught all the magical chants that heknows to Luang Phor Prom. After Arjaan Poowon passed away, Luang Phor Promstopped learning from any teachers.
The 3 teachers that Luang Phor Prom has learned from, were the best teachersduring that time. The first teacher, Arjaan Puang was the disciple of Luang PooMah Wat Bahng Muang; who is also the teacher of Prajow Taksin Maharaht (King ofThailand before Rattanakosin period). As for Arjaan Poowon, he was the discipleof Luang Poo Nin of Wat Keow Pah Sak. Luang Poo Nin was the brother of LuangPoo Saeng, who was the teacher of Pra Somdej Praputjahn Dtoh.
Luang Phor Prom went forest dwelling(Tudong) at BE2457. He tudong around theChong Kae mountains in Nakon Sawan Province. When he first arrived at foothillin Chong Kae, there was a heavy thunderstorm. The villagers asked him toshelter inside a cave.
The first night when Luang Phor Prom was staying in the cave, he fell asleepafter the long journey. Luang Phor dreamed of a human image in his dream;guiding him how to follow the path of Buddha's teachings. Luang Phor Promdecided stay in that cave as his dwelling place, because on the first night hehad already have such a dream.
Luang Phor Prom quickly returned to Ayutayah Province to sell off all hisfarmland, which was passed down by his parents. In BE2458, Luang Phor Prom wentback to Chong Kae village. With the help of the villagers and the money he has,he built a temple which was named as Wat Chong Kae. Luang Phor Prom stayed inWat Chong Kae for 60 years, until he passed away on 30th January BE2518 at theage 96 years old and as a monk for 71 years.
Luang Phor Prom's body is housed in a glass coffin in Wat Chong Kae. His bodyremains in good condition, and there are no sign of decay. In fact, his fingernails and body hair still growing, as if Luang Phor Prom just fell asleep andnot passed away. Some people said that, this is the level of Arahang, where thebody will never be decayed |
